THE HISTORY OF BITUM WATERPROOFING PRODUCTS DISTRIBUTION AND PROMOTION

Chemical plant BITUM was established in 1948, at the Haifa Bay, by the group of industrial chemistry engineers. During its first years, BITUM concentrated on producing bitumen materials, used as sealants in large projects in Israel, such as the "National Water Carrier", leading water from the north to the south of Israel.

In 1961 60% of BITUM's shares were bought by the largest petrol company in Israel – Delek Ltd., that made significant investments in the development of production and perspective technological researches. BITUM's name was changed to "BITUM Petrochemical Industries Ltd.".

Due to a successful management and intensive implementation policy, the plant went out on front-positions in the field of Israel oil refining in the compressed terms, the series of brand new high-efficiency waterproofing technologies in building sphere had been developed by the engineers of the plant.

In 1985 BITUM Ltd. puts into operation the first plant on production of series of perspective bitumen emulsions products, which high technological efficiency of application of which enabled BITUM to become the largest supplier at the market of road constructiononstruction.

One of the first in the world BITUM Ltd. focused on extensive scientific researches in the field of sealing materials for cold application and became a leader at the market of this developing branch field.

The main priority of BITUM company is absolute upgrading of the quality and reliability of its products. Great demands are always made to the developed waterproofing materials, especially to their physical and chemical properties, ecological safety and safety of application technology.

Having occupied the leading position at the internal waterproofing materials market of Israel, the company began to export its products successfully to the different countries of world.

In 2001, it was decided to create Central Representative office for Eastern Europe and CIS countries for promotion, co-ordination of progressive waterproofing technologies sales to the new markets as well as for control of quality of producible works.It was agreed to locate Central representative office in Ukraine – country with a fast-growing economy, advantageous geographical position of which  allows effective carrying out the distribution in the region. Such strategy enabled companies to gain quickly a foothold at the new markets and to carry out permanent expansion of activity.

From 2002 till 2006 year the Central Representative office has opened offices in the Russian Federation (Moscow), countries of Middle Asia (Astana), the Baltic countries and Belarus (Riga), Moldova (Kishinev), Romania (Bucharest), Poland (Warsaw), Germany (Dresden), Czech Republic (Prague), Hungary (Budapest), and continues expansion work in the representative offices network.

The Central Representative office provides:

- technological and informational-analytics support for regional representative offices;

- consultation in the questions of engineering design on products application;

- support in materials standardization and certification;

- co-ordination of products deliveries to the regional representative offices;

- support in advertising, in organization of exhibitions, presentations, seminars;

- popularization of the new building technologies offered by BITUM;

- regional representative offices management and technical personnel training.
